Security Philosophy & Defense-in-Depth Architecture
At DigiWebFX, security is an architectural first principle, not an afterthought. We build digital assets for high-growth enterprises, luxury brands, and global eCommerce platforms requiring bank-grade resilience. Our security controls align with the ISO/IEC 27001 standard and the AICPA SOC 2 Trust Services Criteria (Security, Availability, and Confidentiality).
We enforce defense-in-depth across five decoupled layers: (1) Edge DNS & WAF, (2) Network & Transport Layer, (3) Application & Codebase Logic, (4) Database & Secret Vaults, and (5) Operational Human Governance.
Source Code & Git Repository Governance
Client source code, custom themes, and proprietary logic are protected inside private, enterprise-tier Git repositories (GitHub Enterprise / Bitbucket Cloud). We enforce zero-leak operational controls:
-
GPG-Signed Commits: Every git commit is cryptographically signed by authorized lead engineers, ensuring provenance and preventing unauthorized branch tampering.
-
Automated Secret Scanning: Pre-commit git hooks block accidental commits containing API keys, database credentials, or private certificates.
-
Branch Protection Rules: Production and main branches require pull request reviews by two senior architects with automated regression test pass confirmation.
Staging Sandbox Isolation & Zero-PII Policy
During development and client user acceptance testing (UAT), projects are deployed to dedicated staging sandboxes completely quarantined from production environments:
Production Data Sanitization Mandate
DigiWebFX strictly prohibits copying live consumer personally identifiable information (PII), credit card records, or client passwords into development or staging environments. When testing migrations, all customer records are sanitized, scrambled, or replaced with synthetic mock data.
Network & Cloud Infrastructure Hardening
Every platform engineered and maintained by DigiWebFX is shielded by multi-layered perimeter security:
-
Web Application Firewall (WAF): Managed Cloudflare rulesets inspect all incoming HTTP traffic to block zero-day exploits, malicious user-agents, and automated scrapers.
-
Unmetered DDoS Protection: Automatic mitigation of Layer 3, 4, and 7 distributed denial-of-service volumetric attacks at the edge.
-
Enterprise HTTP Security Headers: Mandatory deployment of Strict-Transport-Security (HSTS), X-Content-Type-Options: nosniff, X-Frame-Options: SAMEORIGIN, and Referrer-Policy: strict-origin-when-cross-origin.
DevSecOps & OWASP Top 10 Application Security
Our development methodology incorporates rigorous automated checks against the Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP) Top 10 vulnerabilities:
| Vulnerability Class | DigiWebFX Engineering Defense Mechanism |
|---|---|
| A01: Broken Access Control | Server-side capability checks (current_user_can), strict session authorization, and nonce verification on every single AJAX request. |
| A02: Cryptographic Failures | Argon2id and bcrypt password hashing, TLS 1.3 enforcement, zero plain-text storage of API secrets or tokens. |
| A03: Injection (SQLi / XSS) | 100% prepared SQL statements ($wpdb->prepare), contextual output escaping (esc_html, esc_attr, esc_url), and strict input sanitization. |
| A05: Security Misconfiguration | Disabled XML-RPC, eliminated default author enumeration endpoints, hidden WordPress generator tags, and locked file permissions. |
Cryptographic Encryption Standards
All data handled across our platform is encrypted at every stage of its lifecycle:
-
Data in Transit: Mandatory TLS 1.3 protocol with ECDHE cipher suites providing Perfect Forward Secrecy (PFS). Legacy TLS 1.0 and 1.1 are completely disabled.
-
Data at Rest: Database volumes, backups, and file storage use FIPS 140-2 validated AES-256 bit encryption managed through enterprise cloud key management services (KMS).
Zero-Trust Access & Identity Management
Access to internal infrastructure, deployment clusters, and client staging servers is governed by Zero-Trust Network Architecture (ZTNA). Employees must authenticate through enterprise Single Sign-On (SSO) with FIDO2 hardware security keys or authenticator apps. Access permissions are automatically revoked immediately upon contract termination.
Disaster Recovery, High Availability & Automated Backups
We design infrastructure for uninterrupted business continuity. For managed hosting and retainer clients:
-
Recovery Point Objective (RPO): Point-in-time database snapshotting ensures maximum potential data loss is limited to under fifteen (15) minutes.
-
Recovery Time Objective (RTO): Complete disaster restoration capability restoring full platform operations within two (2) hours.
-
Geo-Redundant Off-Site Backups: Daily automated immutable backups replicated across distinct geographic cloud availability zones.
Third-Party Vendor Risk Management & Supply Chain Audits
DigiWebFX conducts rigorous third-party risk assessments on all software libraries, npm packages, and cloud integrations. We enforce strict dependency locking (package-lock.json, composer.lock) and run automated CI vulnerability audits (npm audit, Composer audit) before merging any code.
Responsible Vulnerability Disclosure & Bug Bounty Program
DigiWebFX welcomes responsible security disclosures from independent researchers, certified penetration testers, and clients. If you believe you have identified a vulnerability in our infrastructure or software products:
-
Email complete technical details, reproduction steps, and proof of concept to security@digiwebfx.com.
-
Allow our engineering team ten (10) business days to patch and verify the fix before any public disclosure.
-
We pledge not to pursue legal action against researchers acting in good faith under responsible disclosure guidelines.
DigiWebFX Security Operations Center (SOC)
Direct engineer hotline for security incidents, vulnerability reports, and SOC 2 compliance verification.
